Traplanta 2020 Collection – Drum Pack is a sound kit geared towards the hip-hop producer of today. Its creators, TRAPLGNDZ, are rumored to have real trap roots in the streets of Atlanta. With statements about their drum pack like the one above, we just might believe them.
Upon first glance, the look of the box suggests something more than just a regular ol’ sample pack. Its design kind of reminds us of the alternate Xbox One Box, but the sports car on the front and the black and gold theme seems to say that something more luxurious is inside. With all this hype, we were hoping that this sample pack sounded as good as it looked.
We copped it for $24 (prices are rumored to go up soon). When we downloaded and opened it up, we were greeted by the Traplanta 2020 Collection – Drum Pack folder, a bonus stuff folder, and some JPGs of the front and back shots of the box. As far as “presentation” goes, TRAPLGNDZ gets an A+.
Inside the “bonus stuff” folder was.. well bonus stuff (we’re not gonna spoil it for you ;)). We copied and pasted the Traplanta 2020 Collection – Drum Pack into the “packs” folder of our DAW of choice (FL Studio). When we opened up FL and went through our new trap sounds, we were absolutely Amazed. Crisp snares, snappy claps, punchy 808s, and other well put together drum samples blessed our ears. There wasn’t a single sound we couldn’t use.
And for all of those reasons, we give Traplanta 2020 Collection – Drum Pack a 10/10. It sounds amazing. It’s only $24 and can hold its own against sample packs that cost 3x as much. And it’s made by real trappers. We think it could very well be the best drum pack of 2020.
