Exclusive interview with LC Tha Joker

Today we had an exclusive chance to interview LC Tha Joker:

How did you come up with a stage name?
My stage name (LC Tha Joker) was a combination of my nickname people I grew up with and worked with so one day I was hanging out and my friend said “yo what’s good LC” and it stuck the Joker part came from I’m a huge Joker fan because there’s so many comparisons between me and The Joker like he tells you what he’s going to do and he just does it he’s a mad genius like me plus I love to laugh but that’s where the stage name came from.

Where are you from?
I am from West Philadelphia originally lived there until I was at least 4 or 5 then moved to North Philly but now I just stay in Southwest.

Why did you first start making music?
I started making music because it was something I picked up from my dad he was one of those that on a Friday or Saturday afternoon or night would hang out with his friends and just start freestyling so as I got older I needed a hobby I started writing poetry at first but the more I wrote the more they started looking like lyrics so music was the next step from there.

Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
I actually do believe that because I was that way I was going through alot at the time I was struggling with trying to find myself and I didn’t know what to do at the time fast forward to 2017 I met the right people and one of my songs (Return Of The King) explains everything I was going through.

What’s the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever got was whenever I do my music just be yourself speak on what you know tell the story about yourself and never stop doing what’s right for myself and my family and those who are really by my side.

Do you have a mantra?
My mantra is simple “grind hard” in this day and age it’s crazy to the point to where it seems that’s all you can do you got kids a family a house a car “grind hard”.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I make music that everyone can relate to anything from dedication, I can do a good club song most recently a R&B Hip-hop track I mean I’m very versatile to say the least and I enjoy every bit of it.

What’s your latest release?
My latest I actually have 3 I released my 3rd album The Last Laugh the official music video for The Last Laugh and a brand new single called “Hustlelujah” (Feat Grand Gang management Executive Ghetto Mutant) which is actually I would have to say is my favorite release In 2021 so far and I’m not done yet so stay tuned.

Who do people say you sound like?
Funny story I performed in the Bronx and it was recorded by Lab Spitta (President of Grand Gang Management) and we talked on the phone a week after that and he was like “Oh Yeah I meant to tell you while I was recording you some girl standing next to me was like okay Tupac!!! ” I mean high honor but come on Tupac is in my top 5 and it’s crazy cause I’ve been called more than that but I love the compliments.

What do you want your legacy to be? How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered not as a legend for a start but for the person that I am a hard worker a dedicated father a realist. I want to be remembered for making music good music having a oldschool soul and trying to at least bring some of that oldschool rap back into the world.
