Rihanna suffered a scary injury after falling off an electric scooter.
The singer appeared battered and bruised while picking up food at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif. on Friday night. She tried to keep a low profile in an Escalade while the restaurant staff brought her order to her curbside. At one point, she removed her sunglasses and the paparazzi captured her with a black eye and some swelling on her face.
There were rumors she was involved in a physical altercation, however, that’s not true. Her rep tells TMZ that Rihanna fell of an e-scooter a few days ago after the bike flipped over, hitting her in the face and forehead. She is healing and the injury looks worse than it actually is.
Rihanna isn’t the first to suffer mild to severe injuries as a result of an electric bike. “America’s Got Talent” judge Simon Cowell is recovering after he broke his back while riding an e-bike.
Despite the injury, Rihanna hasn’t slowed down. She recently launched her Fenty Skin line and is readying her long-awaited ninth album, which may finally be nearing release. “It’s probably gonna be sooner than my fans think, but I’m just gonna leave that alone,” she told “Access Hollywood” in July.
