Tory Lanez is facing two felony charges in the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion.
On Thursday (Oct. 8), the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that the 28-year-old rapper, born Daystar Peterson, has been charged with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.
The charges follow a dispute involving Tory and Megan, who is referred to as a “female friend,” while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills on July 12. Tory is accused of shooting her several times in the feet as she was exiting the vehicle.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 13.
