What up gang.
Back with the real you know what’s the deal. One of the most notorious deaths in Chicago has been that of Lil Jojo
Tales of how it have swirled around the net for years about who was involved and how it went down. In this vid we’re going to detail the beef between Chief Keef and Lil Jojo that lead up to him being murked and the attempted slides to catch each other lacking that initially failed until one was successful in upping the score. Stay locked in to know of some of Chiraq’s now famous rappers who may have had a hand in his death. Let’s chop it up and break it down.
Violence and Chicago have become so closely tied to each other, it has become normal for the two to be spoken in the same sentence. This is due to the focus of so many media coverages on rappers and their gang affiliations, mainly DJ Akademiks in his earlier days with his War on Chiraq that can be given some credit for exposing local rappers to the world.
While the violence is very much real, Chicago has influenced culture outside the hood, having kids throwing up gang signs posing for public posters like its all fun and games.
One beef between two rival gangs of Chiraq that is far from fun and games was between 300 and 069 Bricksquad, mainly Chief Keef and Lil Jojo.
The two Chicago youngins fell into the trap of the BD vs GD war spanning decades back. Chief Keef was affiliated with the 300 Lamron Gang which was a BD (Black Disciples) set and Lil Jojo was affiliated with 069 Brick Squad which was a GD (Gangster Disciples) set.
However, 069 Brick Squad also claimed insane GD which adds a whole other savage dynamic in the mix.
See, insane GD’s are GD but both GD or BD can get it if they opps. Lil Jojo was an insane GD which made him even more ruthless in the streets.
His age wasn’t to be seen as an innocent kid because dudes in the streets were ready for smoke when it came to Jojo https://youtu.be/_1lYD6UDDJo (2:57-3:05) Jojo and his brother Swag Dinerro were gang banging from an early age due to their family affiliation with the GD lifestyle https://youtu.be/096V89e75Nw (7:31-8:15)
Chief Keef wasn’t to be taken lightly either. He was just as reckless and Jojo, even upping the pole to shoot the cops
It’s no surprise that as BD’s and GD’s Keef and Jojo bumped heads, but what set things off between the two? This can go back back to a number of murders and deaths between GD’s and BD’s but we’re going to focus in on strictly the beef surrounding these two. What set Jojo off on a path to destruction wasn’t even Chief Keef, well not directly, but indirectly it was his homie at the time, Lil Durk.
In 2012, Lil Durk dropped one of the earlier bangers of his career, “L’s Anthem” https://youtu.be/MntLMkF1z2c The song was the spark to the feud between Keef and Jojo because of just one line “Bricksquad, I say f ’em.” That’s all it took for Jojo n’em to crash out.
His brother Swagg Dinero confirmed in an interview that line from Durk tripped bro out and it was smoke from then on https://youtu.be/IjqNFp-OY4s (0:48-1:15)
At that time, Chief Keef was right alongside Durk heating up the Chicago drill scene releasing two bangers “3Hunna” https://youtu.be/QFEhJfUcD1Q and “Everyday” https://youtu.be/tD3xowIXjAA
Jojo was sitting back seeing 300 this, 300 that and wasn’t about to have them just showing out after Durk’s blatant diss. Jojo came up with the idea that never goes well and took it a step further. Not only did he diss Durk n’em, he dissed the entire BD set with the Chicago hood classic “3HUNNAK (BDK)” that remixes Chief Keef’s “3Hunna” beat https://youtu.be/oKUqbqpzWwI
Chief Keef took to online to troll the release of the track https://youtu.be/S4yM4kUijtQ (0:00-0:08) While Lil Jojo was already rising to fame off the buzz that the track was getting in the hood. In a way, it was like the perfect hit back to Durk’s earlier diss, only negative, is that it cost Jojo his life.
The producer of the track initially didn’t pay Jojo any mind, but the chatter about his talent on the mic made it impossible to deny giving him a shot and that shot took off like a rocket https://youtu.be/KV0bOcFsVRQ (4:14-4:26) Lil Jojo was getting the GD’s in the door before Rooga and robbed it in the opps face
Once he was up, Jojo made sure to remined Durk n’em he wasn’t the one that started it, but he’ll sure end it
Jojo was on a press run, receiving recognition for the disrespectful massive hit https://youtu.be/jABNl3Pgai8 (12:07-12:27) Then kept the pressure up, dropping the track “Tied Up” https://youtu.be/uRig5hpB0zc Everything spilled over from there with the two camps taking shots at each other on twitter. Twitter was like the hood communication platform, every beef, shooting, beat down, was filed in Twitter’s cabinet to gain clout and expose the opps.
Lil Jojo was taking on Chief Keef, Durk, And Reese at the same time, pause. A bold move, but that’s the kind of lifestyle he lived, it was BDK to the death of him. That last tweet wasn’t just for clout, the beef quickly escalated to Lil Jojo sliding on the opps no matter how reckless a decision that was. Video footage was uploaded showing what seemed to be a high speed chase of Lil Jojo and his crew trailing Lil Reese to end his life. In the vid Jojo can be heard saying “Reesy ain’t even driving he a bih, imma kill his ass” before the video ends https://youtu.be/v3AMlPtlzCg
Lil Jojo further spoke on the altercation in another diss track aimed at Keef n’em titled, “I Got Dat Sack” https://youtu.be/7eLdwiDLYto “Catch him in traffic with Lil Reese, man they gon feel this mac.” It’s still unknown exactly who is the other person he caught Reese in traffic with, but it’s being speculated to be Mr Faneto, Chief Keef himself. Filing their gangbanging in the twitter archives, a much deeper story immerged. From Jojo’s tweets, he slid on Reese n’em but bullets came his way and he escaped being murked.
Jojo counted his blessings, bit didn’t respect Keef and his merry crew of gang bangers and later taunted his 300 opps again, posting up in his opps hood and making it public online
On September 2012 Jojo was feeling shiesty pushing his savagery, but it would be his last time. Jojo made the mistake to catch his opps lacking but instead of upping the pole, simply trolling them as he passed. As you’d imagine, the opp, Lil Reese who always been tight with Chief Keef, didn’t appreciate that and vowed to take Jojo’s life https://youtu.be/lrUKrM927ec (0:08-0:22)
The afternoon that death threat was made, Lil Jojo fell victim to his ego and his feeling of being untouchable, calling out Lil Reese then posting up his location
Sadly, someone tested his gangster and took him up on his challenge and that same night, Lil Jojo lost his life.
Initial reports state that on 18-year-old Joseph Coleman aka Lil Jojo had been riding a bicycle when, according to a witness, a gunman inside of a tan or gray vehicle opened fire, striking him at least once. They further stated that Jojo was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead https://youtu.be/U5JpKbbi_VE (0:00-0:30)
Soon conflicting stories began to emerge as to what truly happened and who pulled the trigger. Bystanders painted the gruesome hit, stating that Lil Jojo was left with a big hole in his body after they heard about 6 shots ring off https://youtu.be/cc_skqE6CsU (0:52-1:04) In an interview with Vlad, Swagg Dinero detailed a different story to the news, saying he was with Jojo just an hour before his death, said he dropped him off at the location https://youtu.be/IjqNFp-OY4s (5:10-6:19) According to him, Jojo was never shot on a Bike, but was hit once and the bullet went through his heart https://youtu.be/IjqNFp-OY4s (7:32-7:53)
Official police report documents would surface, with witness statements detailing the bike narrative, also stating they had video evidence from surveillance that coincided with what the witness saw.
Apparently Jojo was still able to move and tried to escape when he was hit. The report states that he was shot at the corner of 70th and Princeton Ave. and ran to 6954 S. Princeton and collapsed on the sidewalk where they found him.
Lil Reese trolled his death the moment he got word of the situation
And Chief Keef let off a couple tweets finding pleasure in Jojo’s passing, saying that Jojo wanted to be like 300 and that 300 the real Brick Squad before getting his laugh on.
That wasn’t a good look, because cops were blatant in news coverage that Chief Keef was involved in his murder. Chief tried to correct his error by stating his twitter was hacked, but it was too late
https://youtu.be/U5JpKbbi_VE (0:29-1:14) https://youtu.be/YuW729ANmZU (0:20-2:00) https://youtu.be/U5JpKbbi_VE (1:21-1:25)
To make matters worse, Jojo’s moms was brought on live television along with his brother Swagg Dinero where his mother confessed that she believes Chief Keef is responsible for her son’s murder. Damn https://youtu.be/YuW729ANmZU (2:19-2:33) That last part she said is very interesting “she believed he paid someone to do it.” Check this out. Zack TV (RIP to him) did an interview in the hood with Lil Jojo’s homies, one of which claimed he was there when Jojo was shot but they didn’t have their poles with ‘em. Basically they were caught lackin’ https://youtu.be/KV0bOcFsVRQ (1:03-1:48) But check this part out what his homie said https://youtu.be/KV0bOcFsVRQ (1:52-2:22) “we heard them rap dudes put money on bro head” before the other seemed to cut him off from saying too much and switch to saying rappers, meaning Keef n’em ain’t have nothing to do with it.
There have since been new info going down the rabbit hole of information about who really sent the ending shot and get back that was had. Swagg Dinero claims the shooters already got hemmed up
Chief Keef cousin, Tadoe named Chief Keef affiliates as the hitters
Even the late King Von was taunting the opps about knocking Jojo top off https://youtu.be/dbm2WJC3MR0 (5:49-6:01)
If you’d like me to give a break down of the speculations that arose and go into detail on some of the names listed as responsible who got murked themselves afterwards for the supposed hand they played in Jojo’s death, just say the word. There are lyrics tied in from songs involved and alla dat.
At the end of the day, Chicago lost another young soul, gone at just 18 and homies like Lil Jay wanted revenge https://youtu.be/_edyRETJWdw (1:42-2:06) His funeral saw the streets in full https://youtu.be/U5JpKbbi_VE (1:33-2:19) his name is being kept alive by his homies https://youtu.be/KV0bOcFsVRQ (8:31-8:50) and the spot where he lost his life is still the block that he dedicated his life to https://youtu.be/KV0bOcFsVRQ (18:10-18:25) https://youtu.be/Q9YJHpG1JrM (2:15-2:57)
So there you have it. Thanks for kicking it with yah boy, appreciate the love and support. Catch ya’ll in the next one. Peace up and peace out.
