We’re willing to bet you’re dying for an ice cream cone right about now, yet we’ll bet you even further you’re not thinking of the same thing we are. Well, we have an excuse I suppose, we’ve just come off listening to Intelligent Diva’s latest release, the hot hot hot single, entitled rather tellingly “Ice Cream”.

In this gorgeous summer single, the Florida-native tells us, in quite some detail, what she would like to do with a certain someone and how she just can’t get this person out of her head, so that in spite of the cool of the ice cream, she’s still very hot.

It’s a delightfully imaginative little piece of music that will get your blood flowing and thinking about ice cream in more ways than one. In spite of its down and dirty subject, the sound of “Ice Cream” is surprisingly, almost deceptively sweet. Intelligent Diva’s voice is crystal clear and oh so innocent, even if the lyrics are not.

But this is exactly the beautiful, compelling sort of duality that Intelligent Diva has got us accustomed to. Pretty much all of her songs so far have been both an angel and a devil contained into one, touching on the hardcore, sexier subjects, but also with a gorgeous view of intimacy and relying on another person, needing romance and closeness. Love. What a beautiful, versatile way to approach this timeless subject.

And while Intelligent Diva has done so quite skillfully in her previous releases, such as “Submit to You”, “Lo Que Me Gusta” or “Boy Shorts”, I would honestly opine that “Ice Cream” is her best one yet.

It touches upon a universal subject – that of fantasizing about a complete stranger. In her latest release, Intelligent Diva beautifully captures all the emotions you feel in that very short amount of time regarding a possible future (whether short and steamy or longer) with someone you know nothing about. It’s hot and sparks a lot of naughty ideas in your own head, but also creates a beautiful, laid-back and relaxing melody that makes it ideal listening for this summer.
