BossMan Dlow has experienced a meteoric rise since the release of his tracks “Get In With Me” and “Mr Pot Scraper” in January and February, respectively. In a recent interview with XXL, the 2024 XXL Freshman revealed his favorite rappers are Wiz Khalifa, Rod Wave, and Future.
Dlow explained his affinity for artists who “talk [about] motivation, money, stay in your own lane, get some money.” He praised Future, saying “Bruh been rapping since ‘Turn On The Lights.’ Still going, still making hits.” Regarding Rod Wave, Dlow expressed admiration for the young Black rapper’s rise from nothing to selling out arenas, stating “That’s just [from] nothing to the biggest, for sure. So that’s just some amazing s**t.”
In addition to the XXL Freshman reveal, Dlow shared a freestyle where he rapped about the success of “trap n**gas” and his own wealth, boasting “Made millions off a chicken talking, I done skipped college / 10-pointers moon walking, baby, I got big diamonds.”
Earlier this year, Dlow released his 17-track project “Mr Beat The Road,” which featured contributions from Rob49, Sexyy Red, and Wizz Havinn. The album included standout cuts like “Come Here,” “Talk My S**t,” and “Obama Runtz.” Following the project’s release, Dlow continued his hot streak with the “Finesse (Remix)” featuring GloRilla.
Overall, BossMan Dlow’s rapid rise and affinity for motivational, money-focused rappers like Future and Rod Wave have positioned him as one of the most promising young artists in the game.
