The street activist, B.T., continues to be an advocate for the youth, joining with The Base to better the lives of those living under the weight of their hardships.
Bryanne Toney, known to the music industry as the artist B.T., is a Boston Massachusetts rapper that has built his following on his ability to weave words upon a track to speak to people’s souls. His lyrical content has struck a chord with fans worldwide that are enduring through dark moments in their life. He has become a beacon of hope for many, and has since continued to use his music to bring positive change and inspire the youth to hopefully continue bringing love and light to the world ahead. He has made a name for himself with tracks like “Hunny”, “I am Different”, and “Better Days” among others.
While on his route to impact the world, he has been a constant collaborator with Boston-based non-profit organization, The Base, helping bring opportunities and help to the urban youth. The two have a fruitful history together. His connection to The Base dates back to the days when he played for their baseball teams for years as a teen. He would graduate college and began working alongside their efforts in 2018, becoming a role model for students under their wing, motivating them down a path to betterment in their academic and career choices.
B.T. and The Base go hand in hand. The non-profit organization’s mission is to use the power of baseball to positively influence lives of the urban youth. For B.T. this is right up his alley as an artist that is for the people. Their work together has changed the direction of many youths leading the wrong life. The Base has cultivated a strong baseball team, the Boston Astros, and together they have served over 8,000 boys and girls on more than 600 teams, competing locally, nationally, and internationally. They have received praise from Hall of Fame award-winning baseball writer Peter Gammons and The BASE Astros were also named “2013 Triple Crown Sports’ US Baseball Champions” and “2012 Team of The Year.”
It is clear that B.T. has done right by choosing The Base as a foundation that he can channel his music to impact the youth. He has now set out on a mission that will bring even more resources into the hands of The Base to continue the charity work that has changed and touched so many lives since its inception. B.T. has announced that 50% of the proceeds from his upcoming EP will be donated to the non-profit organization. This type of artist is rare in the current landscape of the industry. Most attain fame and wealth and splurge all for self while promoting negativity that corrupts and further degrades the youth. Hip hop has become a hub for drugs, vanity, and money, but B.T. is taking a stand amongst icons like J Cole and Kendrick Lamar that proves rap with a message trumps the toxic image many have adapted.
Not only is he bringing change to the lives of others through his music, but the accolades from his craft have taken his career to a point of elevation. As it stands, B.T. has an Alexa rank of 113K in the world and that is accompanied by the one million views and visits his website has earned due to the high amount of traffic worldwide daily. His single “Change” has contributed heavily to BT Records’ increasing fame in the Japan music landscape with streaming shattering expectations and the love and support matching the same energy. While Japan has become a major market to the Massachusetts spitter, he continues to push the limits and in turn break all those holding him back from taking his movement to the next step. With focus and dedication, he has attained yet another monumental accomplishment. B.T. had the honor of performing at Black Excellence EBD Legends game, giving them the experience of a lifetime during the half time session with the NBA inspired single “Swish” that has become a Basketball court anthem. B.T. just keeps gaining momentum the more time passes, and he has one big announcement waiting to the delight of his fans. The “Change” rapper has inked a signing deal with Concore Records to take his career to new heights and will soon make it known to the world. Things are moving in a positive direction for B.T., but that’s what happens when your heart is in the right place and your music speaks volumes.
B.T. is ready to shake up the music industry with his new project, while also accomplishing his philanthropic work with The Base by generously extending 50% of all proceeds to their cause. What more reason is there to support a dope artist? Join with the push for change where it’s needed most and show your support for The Base and B.T. by purchasing his upcoming EP.
