What up gang.
Back with the real you know what’s the deal. Broolyn has been doing their thing in the drill scene. The flow, the vibes, the dance moves, they been turning all the way up and bringing a whole new dynamic to the hip hop culture. But the violence and disrespect in their music have even forced the mayor of the city to begin talks of banning Brooklyn drill from the airwaves https://youtu.be/j_6dFYTkNAU (0:58-1:12) One rapper is in the center pushing back for the drill culture with his peers, Fivio Foreign https://youtu.be/a7Q_XCSvWks (0:00-0:14) https://youtu.be/MsyQ0kR_N9s (0:15-0:50)
He is one of Brooklyn’s top drill artists, but that success came from grinding in the streets, losing close friends, and having day ones become opps. Today we’re going to detail his life, his come up, and the beefs that could take it all away from him. Let’s chop it up and break it down.
Maxie Lee Ryles III is the rapper known as Fivio Foreign who was born in Brownsville New York and raised in East Flatbush https://youtu.be/lASG54kVwUQ (1:30-1:38) He was actually living in the same building with GS9 member Rowdy Rebel who he has worked on music with https://youtu.be/SNAjUyI7ddM
And cool with his homie Bobby Smurda and the whole GS9.
Everyone was fam through the streets https://youtu.be/lASG54kVwUQ (2:31-3:04) Fivio grew up with both parents and had dreams of making it big in football. Music was more just a vibe rather than a passion https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (0:05-0:18) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (4:50-5:08) Unfortunately his track record in school didn’t reflect that energy and he ultimately messed up his opportunity and dreams of ball disappeared https://youtu.be/BBgHQZZoGXI (1:50-1:59) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (5:28-5:36)
When that future fell through, him and the homies started messing deeper with music https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (5:39-6:02) All this time he was in the streets as a youngin’ thuggin’ as a crip
Around that time the drill wave in Brooklyn was taking form and with it he found himself in beefs and in trouble with the law https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (6:04-6:08) https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (1:15-1:31) Fivio would try his hand at a regular job while building his come up, finding employment at White Castle and Subway but his chef skills with the bread wasn’t A1 and they cut him loose https://youtu.be/BBgHQZZoGXI (2:08-2:21)
Behind all that, there was something serious weighing on his shoulders. His moms was fighting for her life. In 2016 his moms suffered a serious stroke that placed her on a hospital bed for two weeks before she tragically passed. Fivio was at her side everyday and had to witness his moms last breath before his very eyes https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (1:35-2:12) A young Fivio was waiting for his moms to breathe again, but he soon realized she was gone and that shook his world up https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (2:18-2:29) Fivio was thrown into the world. He had to grow up and learn in that instant https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (2:30-2:57) https://youtu.be/HwzuAe0TKNo (3:30-3:43)
He was also getting ready to become a father of his first child https://youtu.be/6GI0DXD8xBY (1:15-1:41) He took up a construction work to make ends meet but that didn’t work out https://youtu.be/6GI0DXD8xBY (0:17-0:56) Worse yet he still had to deal with beefs in the streets while carrying all that on his back https://youtu.be/6GI0DXD8xBY (1:57-2:20)
Even then Fivio wasn’t going to stay in the trenches and worse yet become a dead beat dad https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (31:30-31:40) He first went under the name Lite Fivio as his rap alias and began pushing out music https://youtu.be/6GI0DXD8xBY (2:26-2:56) His name Fivio came about after his homie nicknamed him after the fashion model Fabio
because he was getting all the shawties https://youtu.be/6GI0DXD8xBY (3:00-4:30)
His old YouTube account still has tons of freestyles and music of his early grind https://youtu.be/Q-PrS5aqNhM
With the change in name to Fivio Foreign his first big break came with the track “Blixky Inna Box” featuring Jay Dee
and Dee Savv https://youtu.be/A7O8QD7KeEA
This was actually a diss track with huge repercussions for Fivio according to his opps but we’ll get to that later. The song went crazy in the streets, catching the attention of former Bad Boy Protégé Mase
Jay Dee’s uncle had connects to Mase and set up the meeting. Mase signed all three but just for 5 bands under his Rich Fish Records https://youtu.be/p90X6_IlRL8 (1:20-1:50) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (7:07-8:00)
Not knowing any better, Fivio signed on the dotted line, something 50 Cent gets at Mase for to this day https://youtu.be/EJt_lME70yY (33:55-34:52) https://youtu.be/CE3tLsVrCRU (32:23-33:13)
Mase would later claim he doesn’t own any of Fivio’s publishing rights but sure he’s making bank off him still
Fivio came out with his single “Big Drip” off his Pain And Love EP that changed the whole game https://youtu.be/xf3eAb4l38Y https://youtu.be/Z_Qm3B3FV9U (1:40-1:52)
Fivio would go to a new level inking a deal with Columbia Records which he says is in the millions https://youtu.be/Z_Qm3B3FV9U (3:27-4:34) He went on to work with some of hip hop’s most legendary rappers like Drake on his track “Demons” https://youtu.be/ecopKVhf5io and Kayne on tracks “Off The Grid” https://youtu.be/EbDMNjT-QpI and “City of Gods” https://youtu.be/0yVdBlGSgRw
Fivio and his crew 800 Foreignside were up https://youtu.be/N4_l7YZPUzU (4:34-5:38) Fivio launched the Foreignside Foundation to bring positive change to the community https://www.foreignsidefoundation.com
But while he was rising, his homies were falling. Smurda, Rowdy and GS9 caught their case being locked up for years, and his boy Pop Smoke lost his life https://youtu.be/N4_l7YZPUzU (1:28-1:55) https://youtu.be/W6h9Zxn5kfA (1:47-2:24) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (16:22-17:35)
Things went further downhill on October 2020. Fivio was arrested for alleged assault on his girlfriend at his residence in The Alexander, a luxury high-rise on River Road Edgewater, New Jersey
His shawty would clear up rumors saying nosy neighbors called the police not her and Fivio would be cleared of all charges soon
Fivio also called cap on the situation, sharing the same story as his girl
Not long around that time, the world got a scare when reports of Fivio being murked started trending online saying he was reportedly shot outside of the Elleven45 lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. Murda Beatz first shared condolences sending fans into shock
Videos surfaced of the whip he was in riddled with bullets crashed on the side of the road https://twitter.com/sftyplus/status/1292273782325944324?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1292273782325944324%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Furbanislandz.com%2F2020%2F08%2F08%2Frapper-fivio-foreign-not-dead-amid-reports-he-was-shot-in-atlanta%2F
Kenny Beatz would debunk the death rumor
Murder Beatz who initially hyped up the scare later reposted confirming Fivio was okay
Fivio also hopped online clearing up his death rumors and assured fans he made it out okay
I guess he wasn’t going to be caught lackin’ and kept the pole tight after that because on April 21st 2021 he was arrested and charged with weapons possession, having a defaced firearm and resisting arrest.
According to reports, Fivio had left his 2018 Mercedes Benz running in a no-parking zone as he went into the nearby Citibank when Sgt. Howard Ginsburg asked Fivio for his driver’s license. Fivio ignored and walked away leading a chase to occur where he began running toward The Modern luxury apartments on Park Avenue before being caught. A loaded .25-caliber handgun fell from Fivio’s waistband and cops noticed the serial number on the gun had reportedly been scrubbed off.
Fivio was at the top of the Brooklyn drill game yet still falling victim to the street mentality. He would link up in the O with O Block legend, King Von (RIP) https://youtu.be/_movRCP1j90 (0:13-0:50) Keeping up that energy was sure to come with beefs, and that’s exactly where things went. Fivio had a small fallout with French Montana because he wasn’t with French using Brooklyn artist Mr Swipey for clout to eat off the culture instead of putting bro on https://youtu.be/y5cjWhzSyDg (0:00-1:22) https://youtu.be/y5cjWhzSyDg (1:50-2:55)
The song he was referring to was “That’s A Fact” where he had Mr Swipey spinning like a top https://youtu.be/031GpK6nKOI (0:27-0:40) French would reach out and they squashed the beef making a remix to the track https://youtu.be/LVv1j3i297w (4:48-5:44) https://youtu.be/w84oGYBRTpU
One beef was squashed, but two others nearly cost him big time. Remember that track from earlier “Blixky Inna Box” https://youtu.be/A7O8QD7KeEA It was actually a diss to his Brookyln opps, Blixky Gang
According to Nas Blixky, Fivio was allegedly caught and given a case of the beats for disrespecting the gang https://youtu.be/MTSm5UYi69w (2:45-3:09)
Fivio wasn’t one to be bullied and repped GDK and his crip affiliation in songs https://youtu.be/2Pf5chKZkdw (0:05-0:25) https://youtu.be/A7O8QD7KeEA (2:19-2:25) https://youtu.be/A7O8QD7KeEA (1:58-2:05) It’s messed up because the homie he rocked with on the track, Jay Dee became one of his biggest opps.
They came up together. In past interviews you can see them rocking https://youtu.be/yR1gfhgMptQ (0:35-1:35) Sadly Jay Dee was also involved in the streets and was locked up sometime after signing to Mase. Everything seemed cool but when bro got out he was on Fivio’s top saying bro basically ghosted him https://youtu.be/riMZbtAnLF0 (2:47-3:18) But he wasn’t done, listen to what he had to say next https://youtu.be/riMZbtAnLF0 (3:20-3:47)
Jay Dee would again fall into the hands of law enforcement, this time in an indictment that saw 34 members of Woo and Choo gangs arrested
Jay Dee was charged with first- and second-degree rape for having sex with a 14-year-old girl. Serious stuff.
https://abc7ny.com/brooklyn-gang-violence-activity/5905732/
He was also charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment
http://ec2-3-95-173-162.compute-1.amazonaws.com/category/pr/page/9/
Jay Dee was locked up for about 9 months, but would beat his case https://youtu.be/DjWHOiVxtRY (0:44-1:10) Apparently Fivio had paid his bond to get him out and he rapped it in his song “Trust” saying “If bro do a hit, I’ma pay ’em out/Look at what they allow/He never sit up, he get bailed out/Free JayDee out the jailhouse/I can’t wait until you sail out/He need a pack, I send the mail out” https://youtu.be/PbrLG5ZEV8s (1:22-1:32) Jay Dee would hop on interviews shouting out Bro making everything seem good again https://youtu.be/tixSEG-YP1U (1:42-1:57) But things soon went left when Jay Dee came for smoke on live claiming he made Fivio and he’d beat the brakes off bro. This sparked a whole online back and forth https://youtu.be/9JrLe_yKqOw (0:31-1:07) https://youtu.be/9JrLe_yKqOw (1:30-1:40) https://youtu.be/CK01J880mh0 (0:42-0:59) https://youtu.be/CK01J880mh0 (3:02-3:20)
https://youtu.be/_DbN1DYtiGs (0:55-1:21) https://youtu.be/_DbN1DYtiGs (1:57-3:23) https://youtu.be/_DbN1DYtiGs (3:33-4:17) https://youtu.be/3v8tQN81EeU (0:55-1:10)
Fivio mans hopped in to clear the air about Jay Dee cappin’ https://youtu.be/riMZbtAnLF0 (10:02-12:18) But at that point Fivio had enough and stopped caring and cut Jay Dee off https://youtu.be/_DbN1DYtiGs (5:35-5:47) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (41:17-44:31) https://youtu.be/pb_0YNQVpzQ (46:52-47:20) He dropped the track “Self Made” throwing shots at Jay Dee https://youtu.be/j0XKBFgTQQw (0:11-0:22) Jay Dee shot back with the track “Subliminals” going all the way in on Fivio, pause https://youtu.be/tetZVuTyYaA (0:08-0:32) Hear that last line “P-Gutta the reason I’m crip.” He deliberately said that because he was once blood
Then began claiming crip and many said it was because of Fivio
Jay Dee is making it clear Fivio had nothing to do with his crippin’ and continues to this day to show love to P-Gutta whose been in the pen https://youtu.be/DjWHOiVxtRY (2:17-2:32)
Fivio was cool with both so it’s unsure how P-Gutta feels about all this https://youtu.be/xf3eAb4l38Y (2:33-2:38)
But just when it looked like things would simmer down, Fivio past best friend, Drizzy Juliano echoed similar thoughts about Fivio saying he blew up and stopped answering his phone and acting like a sucker when he got the fame https://youtu.be/Klo5E_MwPy8 (0:15-2:26) https://youtu.be/Klo5E_MwPy8 (4:13-5:42)
Fivio never responded, but maybe because he had larger issues to deal with. In February 2022, he lost his close friend and brother, Tdott Woo https://youtu.be/JXEavClgz_E (1:05-1:15) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZfQURJJfXl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
to gun violence just hours after signing a record deal to Million Dollar Music
That loss weighed heavy on Fivio
It made a big impact on Fivio and his energy today is less on beefing but more on uplifting the youth through Drill and helping the city understand what the culture is really about https://youtu.be/CE3tLsVrCRU (31:41-31:57) https://youtu.be/cW7KwqGMAbU (0:00-1:15) https://youtu.be/MsyQ0kR_N9s (0:13-0:50) https://youtu.be/ap6NjLfyvbA (0:42-1:36)
Brooklyn has huge potential for these youths to secure the bag and improve their community opportunities. Only if the beef can end. Time will tell, but RIP to all the lives lost and hope everyone’s life gets a positive outlook.
So there you have it. Thanks for kicking it with yah boy, appreciate the love and support. Catch ya’ll in the next one. Peace up and peace out
