On October 9, fans leaked several songs from Ken Carson’s upcoming album. Fans reportedly made the tracks public on a Discord server. They later surfaced on websites like Reddit and X. The leaks continue an unfortunate series of hacks and leaks among big-name artists.
The internet is on fire this morning as all 18 songs allegedly on Carson’s upcoming album, “A Great Chaos,” were unveiled online. The tracks surfaced four days before the slated release date on October 13. Right now, it is uncertain if the leak will delay the album.
Beginning last September, Playboi Carti had multiple songs leaked, rumored to be off his long-anticipated album, “Music.” According to long-time Carti collaborator F1lthy, the premature release of the song postponed the album. The producer was told of a new leak while streaming and said, “They ruining everything, just so y’all know. We ain’t gon’ do nothing. Fuck y’all n—–,” blaming the delay on the perpetrators. “N***** had an album for y’all. It wasn’t make-believe.”
Other artists have also had to cancel or delay projects due to impatient and malicious fans. New York rapper and fashion world regular A$AP Rocky claims that he has yet to finish his upcoming album due to the same. In July, the artist had an exclusive with Complex Magazine where he divulged why his new music is taking so long: “They gotta stop leaking it! These dummies got to stop leaking shit. Every time, we have to go back to the drawing board.”
Carson has commented on how he feels towards the act in the past, warning that “leaking song can get you gone” in a since-deleted tweet.
As of now, Carson has not issued any statement regarding the leaks. The Opium artist has also not given refunds for merch and CD pre-sales, scheduled to arrive to fans on October 13, indicating that Carson may release the record according to plan.
