At 15 years old, Mike Coner found himself alone and abandoned because of family problems. And it was his dream of music that took him from the streets to the stage. Last July, with the Canadian music label You Are Not Alone Records, he released his first EP, Destino o Casualidad.

What strikes in Destino o Casualidad is the natural flows and the good vibrations. The album begins with “Forever Alone”, a song in which the artist recounts his life, his fortunes, and misfortunes. “Tasca” and “Baila Baila” are the most danceable moments of the album and evoke nocturnal encounters in discotheques… With “Quedate” and “Distancia”, we see the most romantic facets of the artist in these love songs. The EP ends with “Leyenda”, a kind of balance sheet of the album which responds to the initial song while evoking the dreams of the singer’s generation.

Hulda Hicks

Hulda Hicks was born in Brooklyn, NY in the late ’70s, at the time when Hip-Hop music was just emerging as an art form. Her entire life was influenced by the culture, having grown up in the epicenter of the creative movement.
As a trained musician and vocalist, Hulda got exposed to the industry in her twenties and has worked on projects with iconic figures such as the Chiffons, the Last Poets, and Montell Jordan, to name a few. Her passion for music extended past the stage on to the page when she began to write ad copy and articles as a freelancer for several underground publications.
