Mississippi rapper Dailan Rashad Claiborne, stage name Rashadsofly, is a Hip-Hop artist looking to make an impact on today’s culture. Creating music for Rashad has always been an instrumental part of his life. At the early age of 5, Rashad’s father taught him his very first rhyme, so it’s no surprise he credits both his father and uncle as the motivation behind his drive.
After losing a close friend to gun violence, Rashad enrolled in college and started pursuing a career in Physical Therapy. Though he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree, he still wasn’t content knowing he had another 4-years of studies ahead of him. Shortly after, he decided to focus all his attention on making music.
Starting from scratch, he moved to Atlanta and landed a part on the CW television show “Black Lightning” (S1 Ep 11). The TV appearance would help him generate a buzz and secured the funding he would later use on his upcoming music projects.
Fast forward to today, and those projects have done very well on the streaming circuit. #RashadSeason2 plays out like a new wave soundtrack to the streets. Rashad raps neck and neck with the legendary artist Project Pat on the banger Get Back, proving to everyone he can hold his own in the booth. With a long list of features under his belt (Lil Lonnie, Jimmy Rocket, and SlimelifeShawty), it’s safe to say the homie is locked-in for the long haul.
