In 2020 things changed for Ryan Adams, and the Russian born, Mila Rose. The two creatives would cross paths and instantly spark a connection that turned into a friendship and engagement overtime. Together, they share a bond that has positively impacted their lives, Mila pursuing her artistic dreams, and Ryna retiring his heavy drinking habit and focusing on taking his music to even higher heights. Previously, he has more than 5 years’ experience working as an audio engineer for other artists and doing commercial audio work for businesses and brands. The path ahead became clear, and they took it together in stride. They would become the super duo, T.H.E. Honoroll. To the many fans they’ve built up as a result of their catchy and uplifting music, they have been given the aliases, 3NAM3S, Ryno, and The Coach.
Today we had an exclusive chance to interview Mila Rose:
Where are you from?
I was born in Russia and came to the United States in the early 2000’s. Ryan (3NAM3S) was born in Colorado and grew up in Wyoming before he moved to South Dakota, where we met in 2020. There are several years I’m skipping over, but we can save that for a different time.
Where are you now?
We moved outside of Phoenix early in 2021 to focus on our music, business, and ever growing family. We just found out we are having a baby boy!
Why did you first start making music?
I started making music with Ryan in 2020 when we met. I had been a dancer and always rhythmically gifted, but never got to see the intricacies of production before meeting Ryan. We do everything together from making the instrumentals, to writing the songs, to daily practice. I didn’t really start “making music”, falling in love with Ryan meant music and creating are just a part of our daily lives. I couldn’t have imagined a more fairy tail companionship. I started making music because it was a truly enjoyable thing to do with the love of my life.
Who would you say inspired you the most, as an artist?
I know for Ryan he could name 1,000’s of different people. From musicians to comedians, I feel like he has so many influences it’s impossible to keep track. For me, seeing strong female artists such as “Snow tha Product” has really pushed me to want to get better at rapping. I do a lot of executive production and sound selection, as well as writing concepts and verses. One thing that amazes me is the rapping ability of some of these females, and it’s starting to push me to a whole new level!
Talk me through your creative process.
It’s usually me and Ryan by ourselves in our studio. He sits at the computer and starts playing sounds from the sound library, or we go through the hundreds of free samples from the internet until we get inspired. Then, Ryan starts to freestyle. Usually he tries to get all the melodic things done first, because the melodic parts are usually the hook/chorus and that’s the subject of the song. I usually steer him into subject matter that the instrumental/sounds emotionally evoke. If I’m feeling strong and powerful from what he’s saying in combination with the music, I’ll let him know. If I feel sad or elated, I let him know that too.
This is just one example, however. Sometimes we can be in the car and Ryan puts on a beat he’s been writing to for weeks. I’ll say a couple clever lines, and Ryan will take that and make a whole song about it. I feel like our entire days could be considered a “creative process”.
Do you remember the first rhyme you wrote?
Ryan is going to say he was like 8-10 years old, but I don’t know if I buy it. I remember writing poems as a child, but the first time I wrote a structured rhyme was the first song we wrote together, probably 2 months into dating!
What’s the coolest, most important show you’ve played to date?
Ryan has opened up for some awesome acts like Tech N9ne, Caskey, Xavier Wulf, and more when he was producing and making music locally. He would say his is hands down opening for Tech N9ne in front of 1,000+ people. After, his team got asked to continue on the road as openers, but had to decline due to car troubles. It would have been a huge opportunity, but maybe we’d have never met soooooo….
Who do people say you sound like?
When we released “Holy Goku” this year, the plan was to create music that is true to who we are. And, that’s what we pushed for in this project. There is a bit of a rock vibe, mixed with a trap vibe, with a dash of dancehall and raggaeton. Now, Spotify is comparing us to 10 different genres and 20 different artists (or so it seems). So really, I have no idea who we sound like.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
We would love to collaborate with IDK, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Eminem and anyone who has that crazy “yo man I think I could do that” type of attitude.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
Hands down Kendrick Lamar. If I didn’t say that, Ryan would have said redo the whole interview!
