Raptology: How did you come up with a stage name?
Brazy Luca: Well my stage name came from my manager which entails a deeper reality of being a woman of many hats and presenting a positive light for others to follow! Brazy, when you hear it automatically you think about crazy and I think about “alter ego”. Luca means “light” or “bringer of light”.
Raptology: Where are you from?
Brazy Luca: I was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. I grew up there as a kid and lived there until I was about 17 years old then moved to Charlotte North Carolina. Now residing in New York, where the city never sleeps. The big city has taught me a lot about the industry and how to keep pushing for my dreams.
Raptology: Why did you first start making music?
Brazy Luca: I started to make music because it made me feel good. My family has a musical background but I keep pushing because Music heals us. It doesn’t matter what background you come from, music is unity and unity is power someone can always relate!
Raptology: Who would you say inspired you the most, as an artist?
Brazy Luca: Aaliyah, Missy, Rasheeda, Trina, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, Da Brat… There are so many to name. I watched so many artist as I came up. They are all amazing and unique in their own way. I’m just excited to share my journey with you all and one day hit the stage with some of these legends.
Raptology: Where and how do you work best?
Brazy Luca: When I’m working on music it’s best for me to be locked in without any distractions. I’m just a busy body. I’m all over the place , so it’s better to have my time to create a hit that will stick! I will take quality over just putting out anything just have a catalog of music that is not selling or being streamed.
Raptology: How do you solve overwhelm?
Brazy Luca: It’s overwhelming, but this industry is hard and it’s no joke so I’m just appreciative of my team because I couldn’t do this by myself! Time management is something I work on all the time because a person’s time is valuable and I want to make sure people know that I’m reliable.
Raptology: What’s the best advice you ever received?
Brazy Luca: Push yourself to your highest capabilities and Never doubt yourself, Ever! I have had to come to the conclusion that people are going to hate no matter what you do.
Raptology: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received about your music?
Brazy Luca: My music never disappoints is the best compliment I’ve heard thus far. I feel you just have to do what your gut says and the fact that I have a team that loves me and cares about my brand makes it more worth it. My success is built on honesty and respect for anybody I work with.
Raptology: What’s your latest release?
Brazy Luca: The latest Release is called “Splash” and it is out on All digital platforms Right Now! This record has a whole vibe. It’s about living your best life something good for people who are starting to get back to business during the pandemic
Raptology: Who influenced you most throughout your career?
Brazy Luca: My manager, Family and Life itself has influenced me heavily throughout my career. It has shown me that there is so much to do and plenty to showcase when it comes to my artistry. I’m just so ecstatic for what’s to come!

Hulda Hicks was born in Brooklyn, NY in the late ’70s, at the time when Hip-Hop music was just emerging as an art form. Her entire life was influenced by the culture, having grown up in the epicenter of the creative movement.
