Drake and Jack Harlow were having a little too much fun at the Kentucky Derby.
Fresh off the release off his new album Come Home the Kids Miss You, the Louisville native served as the announcer for the Riders Up, commanding the jockeys to mount their horses prior to the start of Saturday’s race at Churchill Downs Racetrack.
Looking dapper in a shiny white suit, Jack was joined by his “Churchill Downs” collaborator Drake. With Bryson Tiller, DJ Drama, Boi-1da, and Druski looking on, the pair gave an impromptu performance of their new collaboration from a portable speaker.
They were also interviewed live on NBC, where Drake admitted to drinking a few too many mint juleps. “I had to show up. I’m so proud of this guy and we’re drunk,” he said before noting that Jack does not drink. “He’s sober, I’m drunk.”
They placed their bets on a horse called Happy Jack, who placed 14th in the race. “There’s something pulling us towards Happy Jack,” said Drake of the longshot, while Harlow added, “It’s a shame there wasn’t a Happy Aubrey. We’d run that too.”
After a producer tried to end the interview, Drake joked, “You can’t give the wrap it up signal. What are you gonna cut to? A shot of poorly-manicured grass or something.”
In addition to Drake, Come Home the Kids Miss You features Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell. The album is expected to debut near the top of the charts with 110-135,000 copies.
