Today we interviewed Matiss and Eddy from WMR Music Group, one of the leading Music Marketing Agencies according to Medium.
– When and where WMR group was founded?
WMR was founded back in 2016 when Matiss was starting his beat making career, he was just starting out by making his own website and social media accounts where he was trying to sell his beats to other rappers. It took months to sell his first beat, that was his first income he made online. ‘’If I remember correctly, it was about $10 haha’’ he said.
Then later Eddy joined the team and we founded WMR Music Group which was first a Record Label and Clothing Brand ‘’#WeMakeMoney’’. Then later on we realised that, to successfully run a label it takes a massive amount of money to operate. So we started to think of other ways to earn money and ended up with promoting artists on our Instagram page for a couple of dollars. Then we advanced and became more professional until we got to a level we are at now — working with A Listers and helping hundreds of artists to accelerate their music careers!
– What are your core principles (as a PR agency)?
Honesty is the bedrock of our foundation, as it defines who we are before we even allow others to know more about you. If we always deal in the truth, we’ll live a life with far less worry. Honest action gains the attention and respect of others. Also confidence, hard work and networking.
– Who are your biggest/most influential partners?
There are many to name, biggest and most influential partners would most likely be Sony Music, Warner Music Group and Universal.
– What are the most prominent artists you have worked with?
We have helped and participated in campaigns for many A Lister artists, including Lil Baby – Catch The Sun release on YouTube which now has more than 20 Million Views, Cardi B and even Migos back in 2018
– Tell me about your most successful projects.
On one of the recent Spotify Campaigns they partnered together with Producer Eye on Eyez on the single ‘Bruce Wayne‘ which has passed well over 2.5 Million streams.
Eye on Eyez is one of the most mysterious artists out there, who has produced songs for artists like Gucci Mane – Polar Bear.
– What are your long term goals?
Our long term goal is to stay strong and make a big mark in the music industry as the ‘’go-to’’ company for all artists, big or small, independent or label signed!
There are some more tricks up our sleeve, like founding a recording studio in London, opening a distribution company and reviving our clothing brand!
