Seamstress and $VN reunite for 4/20 inspired single, “Seaweed”

If it’s not broken, why fix it? Seamstress and $VN made magic before and recreated the same with new single “Seaweed.”

The producer duo Seamstress which comprises members Dylan Pun & Peter Paszkiewicz, are putting on for Toronto, Ontario. Since their entrance into the industry, their goal has been to collaborate with and showcase upcoming artists. Their production style was made evident on releases like “Parlé” which brought their R&B flair to light. With their eyes set on the takeover of 2021, they team up with past associates $VN to show the versatility of their abilities on the hit single, “Seaweed.”

Their collaborators, $VN have been making a name for themselves in the industry, wearing their home city, Toronto, Ontario with pride. They have been on the receiving end of compliments for their consistency in releasing quality music. Reuniting with Seamstress, they aim to switch up the vibe with their signature hard-hitting trap style over their new composition.

Both Seamstress and $VN have worked together before on their upbeat “9to5” track that took over summer 2020. It was only right that they return to the booth to bring fans something special for the 4/20 season. Seamstress and $VN would brainstorm ideas in a studio session before the light bulb went off. The beat had a chill laid back sensation to its melody which led to the almost serendipitous statement, “I need a light.” Right then and there, the room was in a hush, then was brewing with excitement. They had found the foundation that became the footing to which the song was built around. It would be titled, “Seaweed,” a track that spoke to the nostalgia of being young and carefree.

“Seaweed” brought a sense of the high life as $VN reminiscences on the future, rolling one up and smoking the moment away. With a production length of 4 minutes and 20 seconds, Seamstress wanted to make everything about the song cohesive. This trickled down into the lyrics layered over the beat. Recited over the track, they paint a picture of the teenage life, partying and lighting up as smoke lingers in the air. Undeath it all, it represents the reality of life, hinting at the truth that sometimes a little spark is all that’s necessary to overcome and find success in our dreams. The track found its way onto streaming platforms on 4/20 and has been getting steady plays daily. Follow the creators online and find the nostalgia in their single, “Seaweed.”
